<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">The Czech Republic is often called the <strong>beer capital of the world</strong>. It’s not just because we love drinking beer — it’s also because beer is deeply part of our history, culture, and everyday life.</mark> </h5>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1024x683.webp" alt="pilsner urqell brewery" class="wp-image-2313" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-300x200.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-768x512.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1536x1024.webp 1536w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1.webp 1620w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍺 The Birthplace of Pilsner</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">In 1842, something amazing happened in the town of <strong>Plzeň</strong> (Pilsen). A local brewery created a new kind of beer — <strong><a href="https://www.pilsnerurquell.com/">Pilsner Urquell</a></strong> — the <strong>first golden lager in the world</strong>.<br>Before that, most beers were dark and heavy. The Pilsner was different — light, golden, clear, and refreshing, with a perfect balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness.<br>This new style became so popular that today, <strong>most beers in the world are brewed as “pilsners”</strong>.</mark></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">So yes — every time you drink a golden lager anywhere on the planet, it’s thanks to a Czech invention!</mark></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">🍻</mark> How Much Beer Do We Drink?</h3>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Czechs are famous for loving beer — and we really mean it!<br>The Czech Republic has been <strong>number one in beer consumption per person</strong> for more than 25 years.<br>On average, every Czech drinks <strong>about 130 liters of beer per year</strong> — that’s roughly <strong>a small beer every day</strong>!</mark></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><strong>But beer here is not just for drinking — it’s a way of socializing, relaxing, and enjoying life with friends.</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-1024x683.webp" alt="hladinka snyt mliko pilsner urquell" class="wp-image-2314" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-300x200.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-768x512.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell.webp 1334w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍺 The Czech Way of Drafting Beer</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">In Czech pubs, how beer is poured is just as important as which beer you drink. There are three classic styles of pouring a draft beer:</mark></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Hladinka</strong> – The “smooth” one. A full mug with a thick, creamy head. It’s the most common pour.</mark></li>

<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Šnyt</strong> – A smaller beer with more foam and less liquid. Perfect for when you just want a light one.</mark></li>

<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Mlíko</strong> – Literally means “milk.” It’s almost all foam! Sweet and smooth, often enjoyed quickly as a dessert-style beer.</mark></li>
</ul>

<p>These pours show the <strong>art and respect for beer</strong> that Czech bartenders have. It’s not just about drinking — it’s about the experience.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍯 Relax in a Beer Spa</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Yes, you can even <strong>bathe in beer</strong> in the Czech Republic!<br>Beer spas are a fun and relaxing Czech tradition. You sit in a warm wooden tub filled with <strong>beer ingredients</strong> — hops, malt, and yeast — which are said to be great for your skin and body.<br>While you relax, you can also <strong>pour yourself unlimited fresh beer</strong> from a tap next to the tub.</mark></p>

<p>It’s a unique wellness experience you can only find in the land of beer lovers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1024x768.webp" alt="beer spa" class="wp-image-2315" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1024x768.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-300x225.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-768x576.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1536x1152.webp 1536w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa.webp 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Beer is more than a drink in the Czech Republic — it’s a story of tradition, pride, and craftsmanship.<br>From the first golden Pilsner in Plzeň to the foamy art of hladinka and the relaxing beer spas, Czech beer culture is something every visitor should experience.</h4>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">So next time you’re here, <strong>raise your glass and say “Na zdraví!” — to good health and great beer!</strong></mark> </h2>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">If you love castles, history, and medieval stories, the Czech Republic is the perfect place for you. Our country is full of ancient fortresses, old villages, and landscapes that look like they came straight from a video game.<br>And in fact — they did! The famous medieval game <em><strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Come:_Deliverance_II">Kingdom Come: Deliverance</a></strong></em> was inspired by real places in Czechia.</mark></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">⚔️ Kingdom Come and Real Czech History</h4>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><em>Kingdom Come: Deliverance</em> is a realistic medieval game made by <strong>Czech developers</strong> from Warhorse Studios.<br>It tells the story of <strong>Henry</strong>, a young blacksmith from a small village called <strong>Skalitz</strong>, during the 15th century — a time of knights, kings, and war in the Kingdom of Bohemia.</mark></p>

<div class="wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-b3b0d055 wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none"><figure class="wp-block-uagb-image__figure"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Medieval-battle-1024x1024.webp ,https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Medieval-battle-scaled.webp 780w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Medieval-battle-scaled.webp 360w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 480px) 150px" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Medieval-battle-1024x1024.webp" alt="medieval battle" class="uag-image-2329" width="4024" height="4024" title="medieval battle" loading="lazy" role="img"/></figure></div>

<p></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Many of the castles, forests, and towns you see in the game are based on <strong>real Czech locations</strong>.<br>When you explore the Czech countryside, you can actually visit the same kind of villages, castles, and churches that inspired the game world.</mark></p>

<p><strong>Some real places connected to the game include:</strong></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kutn%C3%A1_Hora"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-2-color">Kutná Hora</mark></a></strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"> – the silver mining town that made Bohemia rich and powerful.</mark></p>

<p><strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trosky_Castle"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-2-color">Trosky Castle</mark></a></strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"> – a symbol of Bohemia and one of the most dramatic ruins in the country.</mark></p>

<p><strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%99ivokl%C3%A1t_Castle"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-2-color">Křivoklát Castle</mark></a></strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"> – one of the oldest royal castles in the Czech Republic.</mark></p>

<p><strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A1zava_Monastery"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-2-color">Sázava Monastery</mark></a></strong><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"> – an important place of medieval learning and spirituality.</mark></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">🏰 Castle Trosky – The Twin Towers of Legend</h4>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">One of the most iconic castles in Czechia is <strong>Trosky Castle</strong>, located in the <strong>Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj)</strong> region, about 90 minutes northeast of Prague.<br>It stands on top of two volcanic rocks — one taller and one shorter — that look like two black towers reaching into the sky. Locals call them <strong>“Baba” (the old woman)</strong> and <strong>“Panna” (the maiden)</strong>.</mark></p>

<div class="wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-afb13d1f wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none"><figure class="wp-block-uagb-image__figure"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Castle-Trosky-713x1024.webp ,https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Castle-Trosky-scaled.webp 780w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Castle-Trosky-scaled.webp 360w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 480px) 150px" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Castle-Trosky-713x1024.webp" alt="castle trosky" class="uag-image-2330" width="4000" height="5744" title="castle trosky" loading="lazy" role="img"/></figure></div>

<p></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">From the top, you can see beautiful forests, lakes, and small villages all around. The castle looks like something from a fantasy world — and it truly feels like you’ve stepped into <em>Kingdom Come</em>.</mark></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Fun Facts and Legends</h4>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">The two towers of Trosky are said to represent <strong>a young lady and an old witch</strong>, and locals tell many spooky stories about them.</mark></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Some say there’s a <strong>secret tunnel</strong> under the castle, maybe even leading to Hell!</mark></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Warhorse Studios used real Czech villages, forests, and castles as models when designing the <em>Kingdom Come</em> world — you can feel the same atmosphere when walking here in real life.</mark></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">⚙️ Tips for trips</h4>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">The Bohemian Paradise area is full of amazing spots to explore:</mark></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">

<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-2-color"><strong>Jičín</strong> </mark><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">– a charming town with Baroque architecture and legends of the robber Rumcajs.</mark></li>
</ul>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">It’s a perfect area for hiking, photography, and exploring old legends. So happy exploring!</mark></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><br>A cimbál is a traditional musical instrument. It looks a bit like a large zither or a hammered dulcimer. The cimbál has many strings and is played by plucking or hitting the strings with small hammers. It makes a bright, lively sound that many people enjoy.</mark></p>

<div class="wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-2d0f998c"><h2 class="uagb-heading-text"><strong>Where did the Cimbál come from?</strong></h2></div>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><br>The cimbál is very old. It probably came from Central Europe many centuries ago. It was first used by farmers and villagers to make fun and celebrate special days. Over time, it became a symbol of Czech folk music and tradition.</mark></p>

<div class="wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-61c37bd1"><h2 class="uagb-heading-text"><strong><strong>How do you play the cimbál?</strong></strong></h2></div>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><br>Playing the cimbál needs skill and practice. The player sits in front of the instrument and uses small hammers or picks to hit the strings. The music is lively and happy, perfect for dancing and singing.</mark></p>
