<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">The Czech Republic is often called the <strong>beer capital of the world</strong>. It’s not just because we love drinking beer — it’s also because beer is deeply part of our history, culture, and everyday life.</mark> </h5>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1024x683.webp" alt="pilsner urqell brewery" class="wp-image-2313" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-300x200.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-768x512.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1-1536x1024.webp 1536w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Pilsner-Urqell-brewery-1.webp 1620w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍺 The Birthplace of Pilsner</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">In 1842, something amazing happened in the town of <strong>Plzeň</strong> (Pilsen). A local brewery created a new kind of beer — <strong><a href="https://www.pilsnerurquell.com/">Pilsner Urquell</a></strong> — the <strong>first golden lager in the world</strong>.<br>Before that, most beers were dark and heavy. The Pilsner was different — light, golden, clear, and refreshing, with a perfect balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness.<br>This new style became so popular that today, <strong>most beers in the world are brewed as “pilsners”</strong>.</mark></p>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">So yes — every time you drink a golden lager anywhere on the planet, it’s thanks to a Czech invention!</mark></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">🍻</mark> How Much Beer Do We Drink?</h3>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Czechs are famous for loving beer — and we really mean it!<br>The Czech Republic has been <strong>number one in beer consumption per person</strong> for more than 25 years.<br>On average, every Czech drinks <strong>about 130 liters of beer per year</strong> — that’s roughly <strong>a small beer every day</strong>!</mark></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--70)"><strong>But beer here is not just for drinking — it’s a way of socializing, relaxing, and enjoying life with friends.</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-1024x683.webp" alt="hladinka snyt mliko pilsner urquell" class="wp-image-2314" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-1024x683.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-300x200.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell-768x512.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Hladinka_snyt_mliko_Pilsner-Urquell.webp 1334w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍺 The Czech Way of Drafting Beer</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">In Czech pubs, how beer is poured is just as important as which beer you drink. There are three classic styles of pouring a draft beer:</mark></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Hladinka</strong> – The “smooth” one. A full mug with a thick, creamy head. It’s the most common pour.</mark></li>

<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Šnyt</strong> – A smaller beer with more foam and less liquid. Perfect for when you just want a light one.</mark></li>

<li><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color"><strong>Mlíko</strong> – Literally means “milk.” It’s almost all foam! Sweet and smooth, often enjoyed quickly as a dessert-style beer.</mark></li>
</ul>

<p>These pours show the <strong>art and respect for beer</strong> that Czech bartenders have. It’s not just about drinking — it’s about the experience.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">🍯 Relax in a Beer Spa</h3>

<p><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">Yes, you can even <strong>bathe in beer</strong> in the Czech Republic!<br>Beer spas are a fun and relaxing Czech tradition. You sit in a warm wooden tub filled with <strong>beer ingredients</strong> — hops, malt, and yeast — which are said to be great for your skin and body.<br>While you relax, you can also <strong>pour yourself unlimited fresh beer</strong> from a tap next to the tub.</mark></p>

<p>It’s a unique wellness experience you can only find in the land of beer lovers.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1024x768.webp" alt="beer spa" class="wp-image-2315" title="Czech Republic, the founder of Pilsner beer style." srcset="https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1024x768.webp 1024w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-300x225.webp 300w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-768x576.webp 768w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa-1536x1152.webp 1536w, https://czechspiration.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/beer-spa.webp 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Beer is more than a drink in the Czech Republic — it’s a story of tradition, pride, and craftsmanship.<br>From the first golden Pilsner in Plzeň to the foamy art of hladinka and the relaxing beer spas, Czech beer culture is something every visitor should experience.</h4>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><mark style="background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)" class="has-inline-color has-ast-global-color-1-color">So next time you’re here, <strong>raise your glass and say “Na zdraví!” — to good health and great beer!</strong></mark> </h2>
